The Brunswick County Veteran Service Office would like to wish you all a very safe and happy Veterans Day on Sunday! This Veteran’s Day is also the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the ending of World War I. Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our country; you are valued and appreciated more than you will ever know.

Below is a list of information on LOCAL VETERANS DAY EVENTS:

Saturday, November 10, 2018 Events:

Annual Veterans Day Breakfast – North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce

When: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Where: Leland Cultural Arts Center, 1212 Magnolia Village Way, Leland

Purple Heart Run

Race starts at 9:00 a.m. (9:05 for the 1 mile walk). Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. or you can

pre-register online at: https://its-go-time.com/runrollstroll/ .

Where: Hotel Ballast, 301 Water Street, Wilmington.

Veterans Day Parade

Date: 11/10/18

Time: 11:00 a.m.

Location: Downtown Historic Wilmington on Front Street between Hanover & Orange Streets

US Navy Band – Free Concert and open to the public

Where: UNCW Kenan Auditorium

Time: 3:00 p.m.

American Legion Post 503, 10277 Beach Dr. SW, Calabash – at 11:00 a.m.

VFW Post 10400, 3161 George II Hwy SE, Boiling Spring Lakes – 10:00 a.m.

VFW Post 7288, 900 Carter Drive, Calabash – at 11:00 a.m.

VFW Post 10226, 103 SE 50th St, Oak Island – at 11:00 a.m.

The Committee to Honor America’s Veterans, annual Veterans Day Ceremony

at Sunset Beach Town Park, 2006 Sunset Blvd. N., Sunset Beach – 1:00 p.m.

Dedication ceremony of the Brunswick County World War I Monument will be

held at Fort Caswell Rifle Range, 5 Foxfire Trace Oak Island, at 11:00 a.m.

Monday, November 12th – Veterans Day Ceremonies:

American Legion Post 543, St. James Community Center,

4136 Southport Supply Rd, Southport – at 11:00 a.m.

VFW Post 8866, 573 Sabbath Home Rd SW, Holden Beach –at 11:00 a.m.

Free Lunch or Dinner

Applebee’s Restaurant – Sunday, November 11th, at participating locations, veterans and active duty U.S. military will receive one free meal, dine-in-only. Texas Roadhouse Restaurant – Sunday, November 11th, veterans and active duty members will receive a free lunch from their special veterans menu. Dine-in-only. Must show proof of military service. Golden Corral Military Appreciation Monday (Nov. 12th) – Free dinner for active duty military and veterans on Monday, November 12th from 5pm to 9pm. Dine-in-only.
