Did you know we have a great local resource for Senior's Health Insurance?
Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc is our local SHIIP (seniors' health insurance provider). They offer counseling appointments to Medicare beneficiaries at each of our senior centers; Calabash, Southport, Leland, Shallotte, and Supply. Rene Tarquinio is the Co-Coordinator and she has 10 volunteers who are working with her. If anyone is interested in an appointment, they can call Karen Tierney at (910)754-4468 to schedule an appointment. They have been averaging over 100 appointments weekly, so if you know of someone who is interested in receiving a plan comparison, please ask them to call as soon as possible. There is no cost for the assistance provided. This service is offered at BSRI through the NC Department of Insurance.
